September 2004
Art Beat
Ever fancied exploring Munich’s vast array of contemporary art galleries, but never known where to start? Now’s your chance. Open Art 2004 will see 65 galleries around the city open their doors for a weekend, to mark the start of a new season. To help visitors make the most of the event, which is held from September 10 to 12, art historians will also be on hand
(Sat. and Sun. only) to give guided tours by shuttle bus and taxi. Tours leave from the Rathausgalerie in the New City Hall on Marienplatz, where visitors can get an overview of participating galleries. The event runs from 6 pm to 9 pm on Friday, and from 11 am to 6 pm on Saturday and Sunday. A party will be held at the Haus der Kunst from 8 pm on
Saturday evening, with a performance by Manuela Hartl and music by Andreas Neumeister. For more information see
