On the Run
Now’s your chance to burn off that Wies’n beer gut…
On October 10 the fifth Munich Marathon will see crowds of runners take to the streets for the grueling 42-kilometer race. Starting at 10 am in the Olympic Park, the route will take athletes down Leopoldstrasse to the Siegestor, Marienplatz and into the English Garden, before they reach their goal at the Olympic stadium. Whether you fancy joining in, or simply want to cheer on the runners, the atmosphere is sure to be buzzing, both during the event and at the after-race marathon disco. If the thought of so much exercise gives you cravings for carbs, then head to one of the two pasta parties being put on for the occasion. On Saturday, October 9, from 12 noon to 8 pm, and again on Sunday, October 10, from 12 noon to 4 pm, an “all-you-can-eat” pasta fest will be held in a tent in the northern part of the Olympic stadium, for just € 5 per person.
