Coffee Fables
The good old days of original café culture are celebrated in a new
exhibition in the Luitpoldblock. Objects on display in Café Luitpold, which was once considered one of the finest cafés in the world, document the time when Prince-Regent Luitpold of Bavaria would stop by. The building, constructed in 1886–87, originally had 33 halls, space for 1,200 guests and was home to the largest billiard hall in Germany. In its
time it was the place to see and be
seen, with numerous writers and artists such as Franz Marc and Wassily Kandinsky counting among regulars. The planned opening of the exhibition is October 12 in the Palmengarten of the Luitpoldblock at Brienner Strasse 13,
