If you have visitors coming to Munich, there are a whole host of hotels you could recommend, but if you want to be sure that they really enjoy their stay, why not suggest a recent award-winner? The ArabellaSheraton Bogenhausen won the prestigious European Hotel Design Award 2004 for Best Guestroom Design.
The design, by Tassilo Bost, impressed the jury with its use of Canadian maple and rich materials in combination with natural colors and a lot of glass. In a separate event, Hotel Königshof at Karlsplatz was chosen as the Hotel of the Year 2005 and its manager, Lorenzo Cattaneo, also received the Hotel Manager of the Year 2005 award. Cattaneo said he was delighted that his traditional hotel still stands up against an increasing number of chain hotels.
