In contemporary households almost any procedure can be facilitated through an electric appliance. Such extensive equipment has made private households use as much energy as the industrial and transport section. Of course, this electrical luxury for individuals is hardly a century old. Also, only the post-war economic miracle sparked the mass production of refrigerators, hair-dryers, electric stoves, washing machines and many more useful devices. The show on display at the library foyer of the Deutsches Museum will demonstrate both, the early beginnings of electrification that made everyday life significantly easier and the cable tangle of today's abundant electrical tools.
