For almost half of the 20th century, German manufacturer Gralglas belonged to the international elite of glass design. Aware of its own high standards, the manufacturer gave itself the name Gral alluding to the life-giving grail. Indeed, between the 1930s and 1980s, many designs of Gralglas easily competed with the world's best glass products. A comprehensive retrospective of the manufacturer's many design classics will now be on show at the Pinakothek der Moderne for the first time. Along with glass exhibits, design drawings will also be on display to illuminate the development process of selected pieces. For more information, visit pinakothek.de/pinakothek-der-moderne.
