Some events in Munich are a reminiscence of the times when the city still was a small town whose inhabitants lived according the church calendar. Over the past centuries Dult fairs where held to honor saints and market vendors presented their goods in front of churches. Of course, the event has long been secularized and today the Dult tradition assembles vendors of household goods, food stalls and the rather petite forms of fairground entertainment in comparison to the noisy Oktoberfest rides. The fair will be open from 10 am to 8 pm. On the opening day, the fair's hours will be extended until 11 pm. From 6 pm to 22 pm, there also will be a performance of traditional folk dances.
