In the past couple of decades the notion of what defines a sculpture has been broadened in many ways. Long gone are the times when art connoisseurs expected artists to carve sculptures from wood or stone. Other materials became more popular among sculptors and recently artists working in the field have continued to explore the genre in startling ways. Objects created with such an experimental approach will be on show at the Pinakothek der Moderne. The exhibition "Im Raum des Betrachters" (In the Room of the Beholder) will highlight works by Rosemarie Trockel, Dirk Bell, Benjamin Bergmann, Steven Claydon and many others.
