Without a doubt urban art has finally become an established form of artistic expression ever since the subversive work of street artist Banksy took the art market by storm. However, Banksy only represents one facet of the genre and while his pieces may earn profit in the mean time, most of his fellow-artist still work without any commission and under non-commercial circumstances. It also lies in the nature of urban art that its manifestations remain ephemeral in the ever-changing surroundings of city streets. In order to counter the unsettled state of urban art and to give a comprehensive overview of current tendencies in the scene, the Stroke Art Fair will exhibit a representative selection of European street art. Apart from the conventional exhibition section, which will also show that urban art has become digital recently, there will be live graffiti performances. In addition, the fair will emphasize its affinity to youth culture with live DJing at an open-air party space. The venue will be open on Thursday from 7 pm to 11:30 pm. On Friday, Saturday and Sunday the fair will already start at 2 pm and finish on Sunday at 7 pm. Tickets cost € 10. For more information, visit stroke-artfair.com.
