English-language theater groups BeMe Theatre, Entity Theatre Group and the Münchner Kammerspiele will perform pieces about the intricacies of love relations by Bill Naughton, Alexi Kaye Campbell and the world’s oldes theater play by Aischylos.

Society's view on love and sex has dramatically changed over the past few decades. Complications in each individual emotional life, however, remain no matter how free or rigid the public eye may be. At least, this seems to be the starting point of Alexi Kaye Campbell’s play, who dissects the love triangle of two (gay) men and a woman twice—in 1958 and 2008. Flipping back and forth between the two time periods, director Tom Daley will entertainingly survey how we all are defined by the era of thought in which we live. Münchner Kammerspiele

The Bayernkaserne (Bavaria Barracks) located in the Freimann district used to accommodate the US Army. Currently the site serves as a temporary refugee camp. With regard to the barracks’ checkered history, city theater Münchner Kammerspiele will open a satellite venue at the Bayernkaserne to perform "The Persians" by Aischylos. Apart from Kammerspiele actors, the unique project will also integrate young refugees from the Iraq, Uganda and Bosnia. The multicultural interpretation of the play will be flanked by exhibitions and guided tours through the premises previous to the performances. One-night stands are Alfie's elixir of life. Free from any responsibilities Alfie drifts from one female encounter to the next in a perfect self-delusion of freedom. As his list of women becomes longer, Alfie has to face the consequences of his irresponsible behavior. Written be Bill Naughton in the 1960s, "Alfie" has already been adapted for the big screen twice with Michael Caine (1966) and Jude Law (2004) in the leading roles. The ensemble of the Entity Theatre, however, will highlight the stage qualities of Naughton's character study of a young man running from commitment.
