backBar: Golden Bar
Information:
Aside from legendary nightclub P1, exhibition hall, Haus der Kunst, houses another venue—the Golden Bar. Named after its spectacular decor, the bar is a relic of the Nazi regime. Designed in 1937, the walls of the venue are coated in gold leaf and painted maps show the most important brands of liqueurs, wines and tobacco that were produced back then. Despite the intolerable background of the bar's original commissioners, the artistry of the design is nevertheless deemed to be exceptional and today's use of the bar has also transcended its past. During the day, the Golden Bar serves as the museum café. At night revellers lounge at the spot with drinks and fine electronic music.
